As a Commodity Management Specialist, you are key member of the supply chain planning team. This role manages the planning, ordering and consumption of items used across business value streams, contributes to the management of the supplier base and handles critical material escalations impacting on-time delivery. This role requires excellent analytical and reporting skills to leverage Infor LN generated reports, Excel compiled data downloads and Power BI platforms as examples. Reports to the Global Planning Manager.
In this role you will
Manages commodities across business streams and fosters cross-functional alignment. Identifies and implements preferred sourcing model opportunities such as VMI, Consignment, Contract Warehouse and automated distribution. Coordinates and manages suppliers to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities and to increase profit from global and cross-business streams, Defines (Sub) Commodity structure, organization and strategy in alignment with Management; develops and implements material productivity measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the targets. Communicates the strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials. Performs robust data analysis of inventory flow modeling and drives improvement projects across business functions and value streams. Maps material flow to drive calculations. Negotiates frame contracts; defines core assortment; documents frame contracts in relevant Supplier Management IT-systems. Forwards systematically all relevant Procurement related project information (e.g., updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to keep all project participants up to date. Identifies procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential obstacles / exploit potential opportunities through risk and change management. Supports Supplier Management, in particular Supplier Development to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain. Establishes proper sourcing and Procurement processes and controls all Procurement resources and activities in the project. Analyzes sales and operations planning in respect to commodity requirements.
Expectations :
The incumbent must meet these requirements :
4-year college degree or 10 years’ experience in SCM / Purchasing
min. 5 years’ experience in operations, purchasing or supply chain
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, focus on Excel and data analysis,
Excellent communication and leadership potential
Experience in ERP systems
Occasional travel required
Preferred Knowledge / Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering or similar field
5 years or more in procurement and contracting
Strong experience in Power BI
Exposure to Info LN
