Job / Department Summary :

The Digital Marketing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of digital marketing strategies that enhance Chico State's brand presence and achieve institutional goals. This position focuses primarily on paid media and web strategy, encompassing ad copy writing, contributing to paid campaign management, web content creation and optimization, SEO, and data analysis. The Specialist collaborates closely with the Director of Digital Engagement and Marketing, the Digital Media Coordinator, and other team members to ensure cohesive and effective digital marketing efforts. Work is performed fairly autonomously under general supervision and requires regularly exercising judgment and discretion and is reviewed against goals and objectives.

Required Education and Experience :

This position requires knowledge of digital marketing, with a focus on paid media and web strategy and the fundamentals of marketing and / or marketing research as well as digital communications tactics. The qualifications for this position are normally obtained through a college degree, which includes relevant coursework in the field,

Three years of related professional or technical experience such as organizational communications, media, marketing, or public relations.

Preferences :

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills :

• Experience in higher education marketing
• Experience with specific advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Ads)
• Bilingual in Spanish or Hmong

Time Base : Full-time

Pay Plan : 12 / 12

Work Schedule : Mon-Fri 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Summer : Mon-Thurs 7 : 00am-5 : 30pm

CSU Classification Salary Range : $49,752 - $90,000 per year.
