Responsibilities
The teaching load for this position is one course per semester, and / or 3 credits. The position entails offering core courses in the field Theatre, Film and Communication Arts
The adjunct professor will teach the following courses in the Spring Semester 2026 :
The Whittier College Department of Theatre, Film & Communication Arts is looking to hire a person with an MFA in Lighting Design and previous college-level teaching experience to teach THEA 345 : Stage Lighting during the spring semester in 2026. This is a 3-credit course where students study stage lighting technology and stage lighting design theory and practice. As part of the course, students develop several lighting design projects. Students will also assist in the preparation of the stage lighting for the musical theatre production during the spring semester.
Position Qualifications and Requirements
MFA in Lighting Design and previous college-level teaching experience.
