Job description

Transform Lives Through the Art of Communication in the Vibrant Bay Area - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us!

Overview

Imagine a career where you not only provide therapy but also give a voice to those in need. As a Speech Language Pathologist within a dynamic community in Northern California, your role extends far beyond addressing communication and swallowing disorders. You will be a beacon of hope, fostering potential and facilitating connections - from young children discovering language to older adults reclaiming their independence.

This position offers the remarkable opportunity to support individuals across all age groups in a practice that beautifully merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient involvement. Whether you're drawn to pediatric speech development, aiding adults with neurogenesis communication challenges, or guiding seniors through cognitive rehabilitation, this is the perfect place for you to thrive.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients of all ages utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational assessments.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions with an emphasis on language, fluency, swallowing, and voice.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including PTs, OTs, nurses, doctors, and families to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to reinforce progress outside the clinical environment.
  • Support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as necessary, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain precise and timely records following state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and peer collaboration to stay abreast of advancements in the field.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year if not yet ASHA certified.
  • Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of starting.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based therapies across all age ranges, alongside a profound understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Adaptability in therapy techniques to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Competency in clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
  • Perks of Joining Our Team

  • Attractive salary consistent with your experience.
  • Flexible working hours promoting a harmonious work-life balance.
  • Chances to focus on pediatric, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric specialties.
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative atmosphere emphasizing quality care and continuous learning.
  • A Career Full of Heart - And Opportunities

Within this role, you will not simply provide therapy services - you will be a vital part of a community dedicated to renewing voices, enhancing communication, and celebrating life through small yet profound acts of connection.

You'll join a family of clinicians who uplift one another in an environment steeped in collaboration over competition. Every patient has a unique narrative, and we trust you to help shape it beautifully.

Why You Will Adore Life Here

Living in the Bay Area blends the thrill of innovation with the warmth of community spirit. Towering redwoods and stunning coastal views create an entire environment that buzzes with energy and tranquility. From sailing the iconic waters of the San Francisco Bay to discovering the flavors of global cuisines in local eateries, there are adventures in every corner.

Communities thrive against a backdrop of art, music, and celebration where farmers markets and local artisans enrich everyday life. The diversity found here is reflected in the variety of cultural festivals, art exhibits, and culinary experiences that invite you to explore. For those in the professional realm, the benefits extend well beyond lifestyle - the absence of state income tax, manageable living costs, and a rapidly expanding medical sector all contribute to both personal and professional fulfillment.

Whether you're just starting your journey or looking to elevate your career, you'll find ample opportunities to flourish - both personally and professionally.

    Who We Are Looking For

We are in search of a Speech Language Pathologist who is not just focused on results but is also fueled by compassion. Someone who sees potential where others may overlook it - who observes hesitation in a child and envisions blossoming self-expression, who recognizes a stroke recovery journey as a testament of resilience.

You might specialize with young patients yet yearn to expand your expertise into adult services - or work exclusively with neuro-based challenges while seeking to incorporate early intervention into your practice.

No matter your background, if you're ready to serve with heart and lead skillfully, we're excited to embrace you.

Let's Create Meaningful Connections - Together

If you believe communication is more than mere words, and therapy transcends the routine tasks - if you understand the importance of fostering trust before addressing targets and value joy as much as speech - this could be the next extraordinary chapter in your professional narrative.

We invite you to join us in a community that cherishes connection, communication, and the courage to start anew. Apply today to lend your unique voice to our dynamic team - and assist others in finding their own.
