A leading diagnostics and life sciences company is seeking a
Technical Communications Specialist II
to join the Technical Publications team. This role is focused on producing high-quality technical content to support the safe and effective use of medical products and equipment.
Position Overview :
The Technical Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating and managing a range of technical publications and product labeling materials. These may include manuals, online content, instructions for use, and other regulated documentation. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical writing experience, project management skills, and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, write, edit, and proofread technical documentation including product labeling, manuals, and internal / external communications Collaborate with subject matter experts across engineering, regulatory, R&D, and marketing Ensure all materials adhere to established standards and regulatory requirements Manage documentation through review and approval workflows, following change control procedures Support labeling verification and validation, review publication effectiveness Analyze content and recommend revisions for improved clarity, format, or scope Participate in cross-functional projects and respond to complex documentation requests Support translation efforts, media vendors, and external manufacturers as needed
Qualifications :
Associate’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Medical Technology, Biology, or Engineering required; Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a regulated environment Strong writing, editing, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with minimal supervision Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe FrameMaker, and topic-based authoring tools (HTML, XML, DITA) Experience with content management systems, CSS, and website or online documentation tools is highly desirable Familiarity with translated publications, Java scripting, and animation tools is a plus Knowledge of medical products or previous experience with diagnostic device documentation is advantageous
Work Environment :
This position may be based in a traditional office setting or supported remotely. Standard physical demands include extended periods of sitting and frequent typing or use of computer systems.
