Development Communications Associate, Full-Time (non-exempt)
POSITION PURPOSE :
Supports the Development Department by coordinating Patron Communications and Young Professional Fundraising activities. Communications include but are not limited to email newsletters, annual printed newsletter, website updates, renewal letters and invoices for patron groups including The Museum Associates, Collectors' Groups, other individuals, and institutional giving groups. The fundraising oversight of the role includes the CultureHaus membership level and the fundraising Ball, which are entry-points to the museum for Young Professionals.
The ideal candidate is a self-starting storyteller with professional / business writing skills and impeccable attention to editing detail.
This position reports to the Director of Development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Patron Communications
- Oversee patron stewardship communications including email newsletters of museum activities and events for individual and corporate supporters, Development webpage and FlickR site, and the annual Beyond the Walls patron newsletter.
- Manage a communications calendar that is shared and coordinated with the full Development team.
- Support communications related to renewed support such as renewal requests, invoices, and fulfillment materials.
- Reply to direct donor communications as needed.
- Attend meetings with the Marketing and Communications department to coordinate on broader institutional strategies.
- Manage credit line placement and approvals in museum-wide communications.
Young Professional Fundraising :
Engagement of Young Professionals is a critical focus of the Development department to build a pipeline for future support. This position will oversee young professional involvement across Development programs.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Skills, etc.) :
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Position type : This position will be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME-CWU .
Pay : The hiring range for the position is $21.00 - $27.00 based on experience. A $0.50 language differential is available for hours worked for candidates who have Spanish speaking proficiency.
