As a pioneering woman-owned business founded in 2014, Bicycle Transit Systems leads the way in bike share program management nationwide – we are the only vertically integrated bike share provider overseeing the customer experience from product design to local implementation and operation. Our mission is to strengthen communities and protect our planet through the development and implementation of bike share. At Bike Transit, we foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and environmental stewardship. We are passionate about providing safe, seamless, reliable, and memorable customer experiences, building mutually-rewarding relationships with our riders, suppliers, and clients.

We are on the hunt for a creative and driven Marketing & Communications Manager to join our collaborative Central team. At Bike Transit, we value work-life balance and offer a 4-day workweek to help you recharge and bring your best self to work. Working closely with the Director of Customer Strategy as a key member of our new central marketing operations function, you will play a vital role in shaping and executing impactful marketing campaigns across various channels to support local general management and marketing teams. This is your chance to develop and implement marketing strategies that drive customer growth and engagement across 13 diverse bike share systems nationwide.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Campaign Planning & Execution :

    • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, website, and other relevant channels.

  • Manage campaign timelines and resources effectively.
  • Put your collaboration and communication skills to use by working with cross-functional teams (e.g., General Management, Product, Customer Service, and Business Intelligence) to achieve marketing goals.
  • Track campaign performance and analyze key metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, web traffic, conversion rates, ROI) to provide data-driven insights, optimize campaigns, and improve results.
  • Content Creation

    • Craft compelling copy and content (print and digital) that resonates with target audiences, addresses customer concerns, and drives conversions.

  • Curate high-quality imagery (photographs, iconography, and / or videos) that effectively communicates brand values and campaign messages.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of brand style guidelines
  • Ensure all marketing materials and communications are consistent with brand guidelines across 13 bike share systems.
  • Email Marketing :

    • Unleash your email marketing expertise by crafting and managing a diverse range of campaigns, including automated email sequences, engagement / newsletter emails, and dedicated promotional emails that nurture customer relationships and drive conversions.

  • Ensure email deliverability and maintain a high level of subscriber engagement.
  • Utilize email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact) to create and manage email campaigns.
  • Website Management :

    • Utilize your expertise in website platforms like WordPress to maintain and update website content and layout for 13 bike share programs nationwide, ensuring a user-friendly and engaging online experience.

  • Collaborate with the web / software development team to create a best-in-class website experience and optimize for increased conversions.
  • Ensure high-quality website content that is up-to-date, accurate, and engaging, providing valuable information to our customers and stakeholders.
  • Track website traffic and user behavior to identify areas for improvement.

    • Education and / or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Bring your 5+ years of digital marketing experience to the table, showcasing your passion for crafting compelling campaigns that drive results.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing successful email marketing campaigns.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms, website platforms, and marketing analytics tools preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design or social media marketing (including content creation, advertising, and community management) a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and draw insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for the bike-share industry preferred.

    • Physical Requirements and Special Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • This is a full-time position expected to work 32 hours per week (4 days per week, 8 hours per day). Some hours outside of this, including nights and weekends, may be required.
  • This is a hybrid role that will require on-site presence in the office to address ad-hoc, in-person requests and personnel matters.
  • Work from home shifts require a reliable internet connection and an environment to take calls where quiet & customer privacy can be assured.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and digital screens
  • This role requires the ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand, understand the speech of another person, see details of objects that are less than a few feet away, stand or sit for several hours straight at a time, and bend or stoop as necessary.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company policy
  • Repetitive motion required of the wrists, hands, or fingers occasionally throughout the workday
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and video conferencing throughout the workday
