This position supports the School of Education’s marketing and communications efforts at a school-wide level. Reporting to the school’s Director of Marketing and Communications and serving within the school's Dean's Office, the Marketing and Communications Manager is pivotal in the planning, creation, execution, and continuous assessment of marketing materials and strategic communications to help advance the mission-vision, strategy, and branding of the school. The Manager is responsible for a variety of core communications functions at the school. Responsibilities include the management of the school's social media platforms; overseeing event-based marketing and communications; managing several e-newsletters within the school's internal communications portfolio; creating e-mail content related to student recruitment and admissions marketing; and making content-based website updates to the School of Education website properties. Additional responsibilities include writing, editing, and producing content for articles published in the school's print and electronic vehicles. The individual is also responsible for intermediate-level graphic design and novice-level video editing work.
A degree, preferably in a marketing, communications, journalism, or related field, is required for this position, along with a minimum of three years of professional. Five years of relevant, professional experience is preferred.

Job Summary
Executes University communications and marketing strategies for a program or unit. Oversees print and electronic communications, subsequent media promotion, and development of a content marketing plan. Tracks and evaluates marketing strategies. Guides staff. Ensures consistent messaging and maintains University brand and style.
Essential Functions
- Develops, implements, and executes communications and marketing strategies and objectives while adhering to strict branding and style guidelines. Facilitates objectives and strategies for program / units.
- Oversees the design, planning, and implementation of university print and electronic communications including, but not limited to, accreditation materials / reports, annual reports, brochures, magazines, event invitations and programs, and the school website.
- Promotes the University’s marketing efforts through various media including, but not limited to, print, electronic, mail, and internet. Tracks, evaluates, revises, and reports on all marketing strategies.
- Forms effective working relationships and collaborates with stakeholders across the school, including student services, admissions, faculty, and the different centers / institutes.
- Develops a content management plan across mediums to ensure consistent messaging and image in production of key communications materials. Tracks, evaluates, revises, and reports on communication strategies.
- Provides guidance to other departmental staff.
Physical Effort
Must be able to travel throughout the campus for meetings, photo shoots, etc. Must be able to transport video / media equipment, such as cameras, lights, etc. Listing, pushing, pulling up to 25lbs. Written electronic communication required. Computer work required.
