Job description

Description

Join the Arkansas Civil Liberties Union Foundation as we protect and defend democracy through action!

We’re looking for an Immigrants’ Rights Organizer to help us strengthen and empower immigrant communities across Arkansas. In this role, you’ll build meaningful relationships, develop and implement strategy, and empower community, all with the goal of protecting immigrants and their rights.

We’re seeking someone who cares about our communities, thrives on collaboration, can coordinate volunteers and events, enjoys educating the public, and wants to turn ideas into action. You’ll play a key part in our statewide organizing efforts and represent the ACLU of Arkansas on immigrants’ rights issues.

The Immigrants’ Rights Organizer will report to the Community Engagement Director and work closely with the Policy Director.

Minimum qualifications include :

  • High school diploma, GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or commensurate years of experience.
  • History of living in or working with immigrant communities, preferably in Arkansas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Commitment to meeting high expectations.
  • A track record of getting things done despite challenges.
  • Experience with working in communities that are not immigrant-friendly, using online databases such as EveryAction, and Spanish language skills are preferred.

This is a two-year, grant-funded, full-time, and salaried position that pays $55,000-$60,000 based on experience. Our excellent benefits include generous paid vacation, sick leave, family leave, and holidays; life, health, and dental insurance with premiums paid 100% by the employer, including family coverage; and a defined 401(k) contribution plan with an employer match.

The position is based in Little Rock, but periodic travel will be required.

The ACLU of Arkansas is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization dedicated to defending and advancing civil liberties and civil rights through work in the courts, in the legislature, and in communities. We fight for free speech, racial justice, criminal justice reform, religious liberty, reproductive rights, LGBT rights, immigrants' rights, and more. We are a membership organization with members and supporters in Arkansas. The ACLU of Arkansas is an affiliate of the national ACLU, our nation’s guardian of liberty for over 100 years.
