Boston Metal is commercializing cutting edge extractive metallurgy technology that will revolutionize primary metals production, while decreasing cost and lowering environmental impact. This fast-paced startup company is looking for an organized, people-oriented, resilient, deadline-driven, tech-savvy Compliance Manager.
The ideal candidate will be able to grow with the business taking on tasks with varying complexity and increasing responsibility. A high level of competence, integrity, discretion, and professionalism is key. This position is responsible for overseeing a broad range of compliance and administrative activities within the department.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy aligned with the organization's goals, objectives, and values.
- Draft, review, and update compliance policies (e.g. anticorruption, interaction with public agents, third parties risk management, gifts & hospitalities, donations & sponsorships, conflict of interests, whistleblower, and others), procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs and controls.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify compliance risks and vulnerabilities.
- Develop strategies, controls, and mitigation plans to address identified risks effectively.
- Interpret regulatory requirements and communicate implications to stakeholders.
- Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and audits.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs, workshops, and materials to educate employees, management, and other stakeholders.
- Promote awareness of compliance requirements and ethical standards throughout the organization.
- Oversee investigations into allegations of non-compliance, misconduct, or policy violations.
- Ensure that investigations are conducted promptly, thoroughly, and impartially.
- Implement corrective actions and remediation measures as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of compliance activities, including audits, assessments, investigations, and remediation efforts.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal review, senior management, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders as required.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, technology, HR, IT, operations, and senior management, to address compliance challenges and promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Build relationships with external partners, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
- Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the organization's operations.
