Job descriptionYou typically have at least years of composite repair / modification experience. Airframe License (preferred) You have formal vocational training or equivalent. You have customer service / aviation work experience. You have basic PC skills. You have basic knowledge of pulling maintenance manuals / IPC’s from a computer. You have basic knowledge of regulations dealing with transportation of hazardous materials. You have demonstrated the ability to communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status. You have demonstrated the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings. Full-time, Contract Shift Hours / Schedule : hour shifts | st shift : : am – : pm, nd shift : : pm – : am; days on with days off | days on with days off. Candidate must be willing to work either shift. Overtime is available. Travel Pay $ (if applicable) Longevity Bonus Offered Must be able to work as part of a team in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance. Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to multi-task. Physical Demands : The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to pounds. Position requires frequent walking, standing and / or climbing. Work Environment : Ability to work in confined spaces. FAR Part aircraft maintenance in a hanger and ramp environment.
Summary :
HQ Aero is currently recruiting for a COMPOSITE TECHNICIAN in TUCSON AZ .
Responsibilities :
As a Composite Technician, you will be required to :
- Document work performed per appropriate manuals including, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Structure Repair Manual (SRM), Engineering Drawings (EO’s), and Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC).
- Inspect / repair parts as required.
- Assist in performing minor structural repairs on composite components detached or attached to aircraft including, but not limited to flight controls, doors, wing tops, engine inlet and cowlings, stabilizers, radomes, aft stingers, and horizontal to vertical stabilizer close-out fairings at on-site or off-site locations.
- Perform composite-related repair tasks in accordance with approved / accepted data consisting of, but not limited to the restoration of aramid, fiberglass, and carbon and aluminum mesh fabrics.
- Complete assigned tasks within allocated man-hours on schedule.
- Perform vacuum bagging.
- Prepare all requirements for repairs according to approved / accepted data.
- Operate a broad variety of hand / power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures included but not limited to Safety Manual Section .
