Position description :  The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for a position in Electrical Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and the potential to establish a research program that involves both undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching responsibilities will include both introductory and advanced courses, as well as assisting in curriculum development. The applicant will be expected to advise students; serve on department, college, and university committees; and engage in professional activities. Applicants whose work supports the university’s Learn by Doing philosophy and demonstrates commitment to both the highest standards of professional ethics and to inclusion and equity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.

Minimum requirements include :

Preferred / Desired Qualifications :

  • Ability to teach a broad range of courses in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated potential for developing innovative lecture and laboratory curricula.
  • Teaching experience in an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering program.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide hands-on educational experiences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting the academic mission through university service work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to an active research agenda.
  • Relevant professional engineering work experience. This could include industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an applied research program, including experience with contracts and grants for applied research projects, preferably as a PI or co-PI.
  • Demonstrated potential to establish industrial collaborations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Preference will be given, in order, to candidates specializing in Control / Robotics, Power Engineering, Analog and Digital Electronics, High-Frequency Electronics, Communications, and Signals and Systems.

  • A list of specific Cal Poly Pomona courses that you can teach with minimal preparation and a list of courses that you can teach with some additional preparation.
