Job descriptionEducational Background : Must have a degree in Computer Science AI or Software Engineering Applied Mathematics or a related technical field. Experience : Must have at least 2 years of software development experience with a minimum of 1 year focused on hands-on AI software development. Technical Proficiency : Demonstrable skills in coding data management and software workflows. Must possess a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures. Programming Experience : Extensive experience with Python use of containers version control backend APIs ML and AI libraries (such as but not limited to Scikit-Learn PyTorch Torchvision OpenCV and ONNX) and data management techniques. Communication Skills : Strong oral and written communication abilities are required to effectively discuss technical concepts with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Learning and Adaptability : A strong desire to learn experiment with new technologies and continuously stretch existing skills. Security and Citizenship : Must be a US citizen and possess an active Secret security clearance with the eligibility to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Experience : 4 years of software development experience and two years focused on hands-on AI development experience is desired. Experience with Computer Vision : Demonstrated experience implementing products that perform object detection or image segmentation particularly in real-world contexts. Experience with Adversarial Machine Learning Techniques (AML) : Familiarity with adversarial techniques such as patching and potential defense mechanisms against AML is a huge plus. Position Summary
We are seeking an artificial intelligence engineer to join our team in Huntsville AL developing the next-generation of tools in support of test and evaluation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) systems within the Department of Defense (DoD). In this pivotal role youll blend Computer Science Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to create groundbreaking tools and software components that ultimately improve our nations autonomous systems.
The role involves developing and integrating software components creating novel computer vision and adversarial machine learning techniques and working within an Agile software development environment. Additionally the candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing solutions defining product roadmaps and applying new technologies to meet emerging customer needs ensuring innovative and effective product development.
The ideal candidates will love to code and have a robust desire to learn grow and contribute to the advancement of technology supporting analysis testing and evaluation. Passion for tackling complex challenges and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in software and AI application development are crucial for this role.
What Youll Do
- Develop and Innovate : Design write and deploy code for new system architectures using libraries like Torchvision and OpenCV and languages such as Python C and Rust.
- Build ML Systems : Design develop implement optimize secure and test supervised ML algorithms and related software to perform image segmentation and object detection.
- Follow Best Practices : Maintain and champion best practices in software development including coding standards documentation and smooth deployment processes.
- Evaluate Models : Design and construct pipelines for data preparation model training deployment and monitoring prioritizing deployable and efficient applications.
- Collaborate and Share Knowledge : Actively participate in technical and product discussions sharing knowledge and ideas with colleagues across various departments within the company.
- Execute Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI / CD) : Automate the build test and deployment of software; integrating version control conducting automated testing and ensuring secure reliable and frequent releases to production.
- Travel Requirements : Engage in minimum travel for purposes like onboarding corporate training and other essential corporate activities.
