Position Summary...
What you'll do...
It’s an exciting time to join our Walmart journey, we are seeking a Staff Data Scientist (Computer Vision) . At Walmart, technology empowers us and people lead. We believe new technologies will enhance the associate and customer experience in our stores. You will be working on future looking initiatives that is targeted at improving in store customer experience for the 240+ million Walmart customers that shop at our stores. The mission is to create step change in-store experiences, leveraging emerging technology to help define and deliver on evolving customer expectations. Its success requires a cross- functional, mission-based team that is highly entrepreneurial, collaborative and passionate about solving the unsolved problems.
As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will be designing, training and deploying state-of-art AI models in real-world production environment. In conjunction with multiple product and technology groups, you will work to create a best-in-class consumer experience in the physical retail space.
You’ll sweep us off our feet if….
- Experience in shipping computer vision products to thousands of customers or have started a new line of product.
- Experience with complex image or video analytic pipelines
- Experience in machine learning development life cycle
- Expertise in some of the following fields : computer vision (face recognition, image retrieval, fine grained classification, OCR), machine learning.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279 : The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00
Sunnyvale, California US-04396 : The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
Option 1 : Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2 : Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 : 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field
Preferred Qualifications...
Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R, Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch), We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
