Job Title : Material Testing Technician

Job Description

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Material Testing Technicians. This is an entry-level position where we will train you to work in the field, taking samples of concrete and soil to ensure construction materials comply with building plans and specifications. This role is essential for quality control, ensuring that streets and buildings are constructed correctly.

Responsibilities

• Work in the field, taking samples of concrete and soil to ensure ground stability for construction.
• Spend most of the time in the field testing construction materials (soil, concrete, to ensure compliance with building plans and specifications.
• Perform field testing of soil compaction and sampling of concrete.
• Conduct field inspection of reinforcing steel (rebar) and masonry.
• Work independently 90% of the day.
• Utilize basic math skills daily.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Drive to multiple job sites each day.

Work Environment

This role involves 90% fieldwork and 10% office work. You will work outside in various weather conditions and drive from job site to job site. Training will be provided by a technician. The work environment includes sites before any building construction, primarily consisting of dirt and concrete landscapes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DES MOINES, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 / hr.
