We are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Construction Project Manager to manage the full scope of multifamily construction projects, ensuring coordination, timely completion, budget adherence, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in managing large-scale residential projects, with a focus on multifamily developments. You will be responsible for leading teams, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee the day-to-day operations of multifamily construction projects from inception through completion.
Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Develop, manage, and update project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
Lead and supervise project teams, including subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff.
Review and approve contracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards.
Regularly communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve issues.
Maintain project documentation, including permits, inspections, and approvals.
Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring projects stay on track and meet strategic goals.
Handle conflict resolution and troubleshooting as issues arise.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university (required).
7+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on multifamily residential projects.
Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
Strong technical understanding of various areas of construction.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
Strong negotiating and contract management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Skills / Experience :
Experience with zoning, permitting, and local code compliance specific to the Chicago area.
Familiarity with union labor and labor agreements.
Proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project, etc.).
Experience with adaptive reuse projects.
Extensive relations with local tradesmen and subcontractors
