Job Summary
CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for the Construction Group. This internship is ideal for a student interested in construction management and civil engineering. This individual will have the opportunity to work on a variety of heavy civil projects such as road, bridge, disaster recovery, etc., performing tasks in all phases of the project (i.e., bid / estimates, fieldwork, documentation, compliance reporting, etc.)
Compensation
$20.50-$27.00 / hr DOE
Responsibilities
- Complete Safety and OSHA training and any other site / job specific required training
- Carry-out and practice all Safety training and company policies in the CalPortland workplace
- Assist estimators with quanitity take-offs and quote requests
- Assist project managers with material ordering, subcontractor scheduling, measurement / billing, and more
- Assist with building a reporting process that can review and qualify all operating and ownership cost
- Learn about other CalPortland departments and interface as required
- Attend Summer Intern Day event in Las Vegas, NV
- Perform other divisional tasks as assigned
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
