Construction Estimator - Concrete, Masonry, and Steel Fabrication

Quality Management Corporation of Florida is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team.

Our commitment to quality and expertise in these areas has made us a trusted partner in construction projects across our service area. With a strong local presence and deep understanding of regional construction needs, we continue to grow and contribute to Florida's dynamic building industry.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for our concrete, structural masonry, and steel fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of these specific construction processes, materials, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities that fit our company's strong suits in concrete, masonry, and steel fabrication
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates
Estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor
Maintain and update estimate schedules and logs, ensuring all deadlines are met
Organize and prioritize multiple estimates simultaneously
Research upcoming projects in the region that align with our expertise
Build relationships with general contractors, developers, and industry professionals
Consult with clients, vendors, and team members on estimates
Prepare competitive bids highlighting company strengths
Assess cost effectiveness of projects and track actual costs
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams
Stay informed about industry trends in concrete, masonry, and steel fabrication
Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits
Get feedback from customers on quotes missed to improve future bidding strategies

Requirements :

5+ years of experience in construction estimation, specifically in concrete, masonry, and steel fabrication projects

Proficiency in estimating software (PlanSwift preferred)

Proficiency in construction management software (ProCore preferred)

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents related to concrete work, masonry, and steel fabrication

In-depth knowledge of concrete preparation, placing, and finishing processes

Understanding of various structural masonry techniques and materials

Familiarity with structural and ornamental steel fabrication processes
