WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector to help oversee road, bridge or associated construction with construction values ranging from $1-$50 million. This position can be based out of Portland, Augusta or Eliot, ME, or Merrimack, NH. / ppThe inspector depending on experience will oversee various work elements from excavation, backfilling, compaction, cast-in-place concrete from formwork to reinforcement, installation of precast elements, bridge seats, bearings and joints, bridge rail, drainage, paving and other incidental items. The inspector will report to the Resident Engineer, or their designee. / ph3Your Impact / h3ulliInterfacing with contractors supervisors to determine and monitor daily work. / liliComplete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities. / liliHelp coordinate independent material sampling and testing, or periodically perform the same. / liliMonitor maintenance of traffic. / liliTake and compile photographs, for tracking of daily progress. / liliHelping update red-line drawings using Bluebeam. / liliExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. / li / ulh3Who You Are / h3pRequired Requirements : / pulliHigh School Diploma / lili5 years applicable experience / liliDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills. / liliAbility to learn how to read plans and specifications, or the aptitude to learn. / liliHave a valid drivers license. / liliProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug / alcohol and harassment policies. / li / ulpPreferred Requirements : / pulliAssociate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field. / liliAverage proficiency with MS WORD Suite. / liliHands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems. / liliKnowledge of Bluebeam. / liliACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3-months of hiring. / liliAny combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered. / li / ulpWSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the worlds leading engineering and professional services firms.
