Job Summary
Federal Work Study Student Employees are closely supervised by full-time departmental staff. This position will assist with a variety of support duties through close interaction with departmental staff and as needed with other campus departments and / or organizations.
Responsibilities
Clerical Office Work - 80
Greet visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor. Answer routine inquires relative to rules, regulations, policies and procedures in effect. Schedule appointments. Perform miscellaneous clerical work including, responding to emails, answering the phone, and maintaining spreadsheets and files. Assist co-workers and the Director as needed to ensure successful Center operations.

Other projects to be completed as needed. Be punctual and work hours as scheduled. Maintain regular attendance. Make effective use of work time. Complete all tasks assigned in an accurate, prompt, and thorough manner.
Required Qualifications
Be awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) through the Financial Aid Office at GCSU for the current aid year. Federal Work Study awards can be confirmed through the student's PAWS account, Financial Aid, then Award Offer tab. Students who are not awarded FWS can contact the Financial Aid Office to see if they are eligible at financialaid@gcsu.edu.
This position will work in-person up to 19 hours per week or up to $3900 an aid year.
Other Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled in Georgia College as a full time student.
Must be currently awarded Federal Work Study funds.
Must have a current Federal Work Study allocation award from Georgia College.
Must be able to demonstrate professionalism and dependability. Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary.
General knowledge of office procedures and practices associated with professional settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum GPA of 3.0; Instructor recommendation
Experience in office work; Equivalent combinations of experience and education
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to understand and respond to oral and written instructions and ideas
