Job Summary

The Therapist is responsible for providing trauma-informed therapy services to individuals impacted by intimate partner and sexual violence, including children, adolescents, and adults. This role involves facilitating individual, group, and family counseling sessions, using evidence-based, solution-focused therapeutic interventions.

The Therapist ensures that clients receive high-quality, accessible, and survivor-centered mental health support, focusing on empowerment, healing, and resilience-building. In addition to direct clinical services, this role includes consultation, crisis intervention, and collaboration with community partners to provide comprehensive care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Services & Client Care

  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments, gathering comprehensive information on client needs and trauma history.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions for survivors of intimate partner and / or sexual violence.
  • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning for clients in acute distress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency and licensing requirements.
  • Stay current on best practices, treatment trends, and trauma-informed care methodologies.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Collaboration & Consultation

  • Provide consultation and training to staff, interns, and community partners on trauma-informed care.
  • Work collaboratively with case managers, advocates, and external mental health providers to coordinate services.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and program development initiatives to enhance clinical services.

    • Compliance & Professional Development

  • Maintain active licensure or supervision toward full licensure, meeting all regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities, staying informed on clinical advancements and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ensure adherence to confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards in mental health practice.
  • Participate in agency trainings, workshops, and strategic initiatives to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

    • Skill Requirements

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Expertise in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapy models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse client populations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based setting.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR), clinical documentation, and data tracking.
  • Commitment to cultural humility, diversity, equity, and inclusion in mental health services.

    • Qualifications

    Experience & Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related mental health field.
  • Licensed to practice a mental health discipline in Kentucky and / or Indiana (CSW, LPCA, LCSW, LMHCA, etc.).
  • Must be fully licensed or working toward full licensure, providing own supervisor if pre-licensed.
  • Experience in trauma-informed care, domestic violence, sexual assault recovery, or crisis intervention preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet CWF automobile insurance requirements if operating a company vehicle.
  • Fluency in languages other than English is a plus.

    • Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and engage in therapy sessions for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of materials related to clinical services and community outreach.
  • Ability to work in high-stress situations, including crisis intervention.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, based on client needs.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and up to 70 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to work in high-stress environments, requiring emotional resilience and adherence to self-care practices.

    • Must have a successful background check.
