CONTRACTS AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER – OVERVIEW :

Elevate is seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented Contracts and Compliance Manager to join its growing in-house legal team. The Contracts and Compliance Manager will report to Elevate’s legal team and will be responsible for supporting the legal team in managing all of Elevate’s legal and compliance functions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, applying for and / or maintaining required licenses and permits for Elevate’s various projects, and researching and summarizing questions or issues related to Elevate’s various projects and operations. This is NOT a remote position. Physical presence in Elevate’s Charlotte, NC, office at least three days per week will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prepare, review and negotiate various types of commercial agreements, including sales and consulting agreements, purchase orders, subcontractor agreements, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc. with oversight of attorneys
  • Prepare, file and maintain corporate records and registrations in the various jurisdictions in which the company operates, in coordination with the company’s counsel and financial / tax advisors
  • Manage the renewal and filing of business licenses across various states and Elevate entities to ensure compliance with local requirements
  • Oversee the legal signature process and maintain the contract management system, ensuring documents are properly executed and tracked
  • Assist in the implementation and management of legal technology tools, including contract management software
  • Assist with preparation of and support adherence to internal compliance policies and corporate governance standards
  • Manage key contract dates and milestones
  • Collaborate with counterparts in company’s HR & People and Finance departments in relation to business operations initiatives
  • Assist with any other duties or initiatives as designated by Elevate’s legal team from time-to-time

QUALIFICATIONS :

The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. A. Education and / or Experience :

  • Undergraduate degree or paralegal certification from an accredited program or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in contracts management at law firm or in-house at a corporation
  • Experience supporting corporate teams or working within a business operations framework is highly desirable
  • Substantial experience managing contracts related to corporate law, commercial agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
  • B. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

  • Excellent contract review and editing skills, with direct experience preparing, reviewing and managing contracts or agreements
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, compliance, and legal processes
  • Ability to manage change effectively, deal well with ambiguity / uncertainty and adapt quickly
  • Proficiency in legal software and tools (e.g., DocuSign, contract management systems, document management platforms)
  • Experience with state registrations, compliance filings, and legal documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective time management and organizational skills necessary to thrive in a fast-paced environment while responding quickly and effectively to changing or evolving priorities
  • Willingness and ability to work independently and take personal accountability for assigned tasks or projects
  • Relentless work ethic and attention to detail
  • Desire to learn new skills (both legal and non-legal) and tackle any task assigned by the Company’s in-house counsel team or the Company’s management
  • Passion for sports and the sports industry
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

    Travel Requirements :

  • Travel will not be frequent but may be required on occasion

  • This position will work primarily in an office environment, located in Elevate’s Charlotte, NC, office
