Tax Accounting Manager (Richmond $120k-148k and Alexandria $149k+)
Immediate need for a Tax Accounting Manager for a top 25 public accounting firm with excellent benefits and has been named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post. The Tax Accounting Manager is responsible for planning, supervising, and completing multiple client engagements, ensuring that the work product is finished and ready for review by the Principals. This role involves direct interaction with clients and their accounting personnel, with the Manager serving as the primary point of contact. Additionally, the Manager will oversee the billing process and supervise and train lower-level accountants.
Responsibilities :
Understand and apply relevant accounting principles and tax laws to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Continuously stay updated on the latest laws, processes, and procedures in the field.
Complete work within the budgeted time, documenting reasons for any missed budgets and ensuring deadlines are met.
Demonstrate leadership qualities by building and managing a professional team.
Train, review work, answer questions for Staff Accountants, Senior Accountants, and Supervisors, and provide timely feedback.
Identify and evaluate multiple causes of problems; remain open to new ideas, perspectives, strategies, or positions; and proactively seek to test, validate, modify, and improve new ideas and methods.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principals.
Requirements :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
CPA or EA License.
2-3 years of experience in a management role.
5-7 years of experience in tax and accounting.
Strong understanding of U.S. tax regulations.
Knowledge of state and federal tax form processes and the ability to accurately prepare forms for each.
Proficiency in various accounting software (CCH) and experience troubleshooting common accounting program issues.
Personal integrity when working with sensitive financial information.
Professional experience in financial forecasting and risk analysis.
