The Control Systems Engineer, will provide primary technical leadership for specified research or engineering programs to meet the need for new technology products or for enhancements in existing product lines and technology. Coordinates major engineering projects with responsibility for directing the work of engineers and technicians. In addition, the Control Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of control systems for our state-of-the-art ground station antennas. They will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and optimize control systems that ensure accurate and reliable tracking of LEO satellites.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Design and implement control systems for full motion ground station antennas, focusing on high precision and reliability.
- Develop and optimize PID control loops for various motion control applications.
- Design electrical and control system architecture for new and existing products.
- Program and debug embedded C software for control applications.
- Work with brushless DC motors and servo drives to achieve desired motion control performance.
- Lead electrical and architecture design responsibilities from concept through production.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate control systems into overall product design.
- Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict system performance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, testing procedures and user manuals.
- Exercises responsibility for product cost and quality within the design and specification constraints.
- Ensures project objectives and schedules are developed and achieved.
- Provides cost estimates for products and projects.
- Leads the generation of engineering products by using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Leads the research and analysis of data such as customer design proposal specification and manuals to determine feasibility of design of application.
- Leads engineering reviews.
- Directs engineering and technical support personnel as required.
