Job Overview
The Cook at Safta’s Table is responsible for preparing dishes that reflect the comforting and soulful flavors of Safta and Saba in a relaxed, all-day café setting. This role plays a key part in daily prep, executing food to spec during service, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient station. The Cook works closely with the kitchen team to ensure consistency, quality, and smooth kitchen operations throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Ensure food is fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized station at all times
- Assist in daily prep and mise en place for service
- Work collaboratively with fellow cooks and kitchen staff to maintain a positive and efficient work environment
- Follow all kitchen protocols and food handling procedures to maintain safety and sanitation
- Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation
- Communicate effectively with leadership about inventory needs, prep levels, and challenges
- Support the overall goals of the kitchen team by jumping in where needed
- Provide all other duties, as assigned
