Position Summary :
This position interacts directly with manufacturing personnel and is responsible for maintaining a high-quality environment within the manufacturing area by overseeing and ensuring compliance with company policy and standard operating procedures through periodic inspections, monitoring, and audits of process controls in all applicable areas of the manufacturing operation. Furthermore, this position will administer the calibrated tooling program in support of internal and external customers.
Key ResultsAreas :
1. Accountable to monitor the calibration process and ensure that gages / equipment are pulled from use when due for calibration and develop methods of performing internal calibrations and execute calibration procedures for applicable measurement tools. This is measured by on-time collection and calibration of measurement equipment per due dates with limited impact to manufacturing operations; compliance measured by internal and external audits to company procedures.
Maintenance of Inspection, Measurement and Test Equipment (IM&TE) records and database.
Continuously monitor the gage master list for calibrations that are coming due to ensure that gages are gathered and sent out for calibration in a timely manner.
Physically track down each gage that is due for calibration to ensure the process is followed and send the lost and due report to department managers to ID, track down and turn in gages.
Incorporation of employee-owned tool into IM&TE database.
Create purchase requisition for the purchase of all new gaging and track the requisition through receipt of the gage.
Package and send gage to the appropriate lab, coordinate with the lab on turnaround time, calibration issues and calibration capabilities and escalate issues to the Quality Lab Manager.
Provide all new gages with a calibration sticker and enter the gage into GAGETrak for proper tracking before issuing the gage to the requester.
Inspect / accept incoming calibration certi?cations per best practices.
Document as-found out of tolerance conditions per procedures by recommending and documenting impact analyses.
Initiate impact study and generate impact statements for gauging found out-of- tolerance.
2. Accountable to ensure safety of employees and quality of the products throughout all processes by identifying and solving safety items and having no near-misses or safety incidents.
Able to locate the Quality Management System procedures. Reading and understanding relevant procedures along with awareness of all procedural changes, when they occur.
Follow all Quality Procedures to drive quality outcomes.
Assist with root-cause analysis to ensure that safety and quality problems are properly evaluated and corrected.
Compliant with all safety procedures to ensure proper protective equipment usage to ensure personnel safety.
Identify areas for improvement in process and product relating to safety, quality, delivery, and cost and elevates them to the Quality Manager.
Requirements
Qualifications :
To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.
Education and Training
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience :
Three years of experience in quality assurance role.
Working knowledge of calibrated inspection tooling.
Other :
Must be willing to work overtime as required.
Travel on rare occasions.
Desired Job Qualification :
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical, food / drug, automotive).
Experience administering a calibrated tooling recall system.
Skills :
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, enterprise resource planning, database, and specialized engineering application software.
Ability and willingness to abide by set policies and / or safety programs established by BNI, our clients, and / or regulatory agencies which govern our performance and behavior in the normal course of our work while on BNI or the client’s property or job site.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to successfully plan and implement objectives within established timelines and work schedules.

Compensation and Benefits :
The hourly range for this role is $26-$30. This range represent the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and / or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
