Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will support core accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset and prepaid accounting, and monthly close activities using Sage Intacct. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accrual accounting and experience managing fixed asset ledgers, depreciation schedules, and audit support. This is a hands-on role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
This position is hybrid and will be located in one of our Centers of Excellence : New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and post journal entries for assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and follow up on variances.
- Assist in timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support the preparation of the monthly internal management reporting package and other ad hoc financial reports.
- Conduct spot audits to assess internal control effectiveness across key processes.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for owned processes.
- Maintain and manage the fixed asset subledger, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, and monthly depreciation calculations.
- Prepare and maintain fixed asset roll-forward schedules for non-fund entities.
- Review asset entries for accuracy and completeness; ensure proper classification and capitalization in line with accounting standards.
- Maintain and reconcile prepaid asset schedules to support related journal entries.
- Respond to audit inquiries related to fixed assets and other account areas by providing appropriate supporting documentation.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
