CESOSS is looking for a creative and motivated work-study student to assist with our Communications & Marketing efforts. The student will help promote CESOSS programs, events, and community activities through social media, digital communications, graphic design, website updates, and outreach materials. This position is a great opportunity for a student interested in communications, marketing, graphic design, social media, community engagement, or nonprofit work.
Responsibilities include designing promotional flyers for events, managing CESOSS social media accounts, creating and scheduling engaging social media content, preparing and sending periodic e-blasts, organizing the CESOSS Wix listserv subscriber database, assisting with website updates, potentially assisting with the bi-annual La Voz publication, assisting with communications to Valle Vista families and guardians, attending CESOSS events and activities, working with CESOSS staff and program coordinators, and completing other communications and marketing projects as assigned. Some work may be completed remotely; however, the student must be available to attend in-person events or meetings when needed. 10-20 hours a week.
Minimum qualifications include having a current Work-Study Award. Junior or Senior preferred. Students studying Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or a related field are encouraged to apply. Strong written and verbal communication skills, creativity, organization, detail orientation, ability to work independently, experience with Canva or similar design platforms, familiarity with social media platforms, basic knowledge of website management, comfort learning and using digital communication tools, email platforms, and databases, strong interpersonal skills, and an interest in community-based work are required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
