Primary Purpose of the Organization : :
The Division of University Advancement serves to connect external parties with opportunities to partner, support, and participate in Fayetteville State University’s programs. The division is responsible for all development and fundraising-related activities, as well as the planning and organization of university relations and public affairs programs.
The division is organized to conduct the following major functions : Major gifts solicitations, Annual giving and relationship management, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, alumni relations, capital campaign planning and implementation, processing and acknowledgement, and prospect research.
Primary Purpose of the Position : :
The Director will serve as the primary liaison for corporate and major foundation donors and prospects, overseeing the full lifecycle of fundraising — from identification and cultivation through proposal development, stewardship, and reporting. The successful candidate will bring proven expertise in securing six-figure and seven-figure gifts and grants, exceptional writing skills, and strong relationship-building capabilities.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements : :
- Bachelor’s degree and
- five years of experience in corporate and foundation relations, ideally within a higher education or nonprofit setting.
- Proven track record of crafting, securing, and stewarding major six and seven-figure gifts.
