About the Role
The Company is seeking a Corporate Counsel with a focus on employment and labor law to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel and advice on a wide range of employment and labor law matters. This includes ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, advising on the application of policies and procedures, and working with HR and business units to manage risk in areas such as discipline, terminations, harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour compliance. The role also involves overseeing and managing litigation related to employment and labor practices, as well as handling in-house counsel-related matters.
Applicants for the Corporate Counsel position at the company should have a law degree from an accredited law school, a current license to practice law, and at least 5 years of relevant legal experience in labor and employment law. The role requires a deep understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, EEO laws, and wage and hour laws. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering proactive and practical legal counseling, managing outside counsel, and developing successful case strategies. Strong communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships, and a customer service-focused approach are essential. The candidate should be adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
