Are you a detail-oriented and proactive legal professional eager to contribute to a dynamic and mission-driven organization? CFA Institute is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join our legal team and support our Associate General Counsel. This role will play a crucial part in legal risk mitigation, contract negotiations, compliance, and regulatory matters. You will also collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across departments such as finance, human resources, and marketing to align policies and procedures with legal best practices.
What Youll Do Provide legal support on a wide range of matters, including risk mitigation, litigation, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property enforcement.
Research and track global laws and regulations affecting the organization, preparing detailed memos and reports.
Assist in investigations, data preservation, litigation discovery, and legal hold processes.
Develop and deliver training materials for various stakeholders on key legal topics.
Serve as a subject matter expert on the legal teams case management system and assist with matter management.
Draft, review, and provide counsel on commercial and collaborative agreements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, procurement, and business functions.
What Were Looking For Education & Licensing : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school; active membership in a State Bar and eligibility for a Virginia Bar license (or corporate counsel registration). Virginia State Bar License preferred.
Experience : 0-3 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
Skills & Competencies :
Pragmatic, commercially minded, and adaptable to an evolving legal landscape.
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Highly organized and capable of managing a diverse workload effectively.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with a case management system is a plus.
Multilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
A proactive approachwillingness to ask questions, offer solutions, and think critically.

Expected salary range : $130,000 - $150,000 per year.
Other benefits include eligibility for annual incentives, 12% pension employer contribution, and competitive medical benefits.
