Overview We are seeking a full-time Corporate Travel Coordinator at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. This team member will provide support for researching and booking global travel for individuals and groups, monitor Travel Policy compliance and governance, and help manage vendor relationships. Essential Functions Receive, prioritize, and process timely and accurate domestic and international business travel requests via Garmin’s online booking tool, as well as directly through the GDS (Global Distribution System) Communicate international travel information such as visa / passport requirements, Department of Justice traveler alerts, medical requirements, travel agency locations, embassy locations, international flight services, and destination information such as time zones, rail service, and currency / exchange rates and services Research travel options (lowest logistical airfares, times, routings, etc.) and available inventory, suggest alternative dates / services and present applicable information to the associate for appropriate management approval that complies with Garmin supplier contracts and travel policy Research and resolve traveler inquiries (complaints, lost tickets, accounting issues, lost baggage, fare discrepancies, vendor issues, hotel no-shows, bumping from flights, airline mileage, upgrade problems, and profile updates) Coordinate with appropriate departments to make travel arrangements for company sponsored functions such as trade shows and other corporate events that require group travel Act in accordance with applicable governmental and company privacy policies, security policies and procedures while adhering to Garmin’s travel policy Maintain appropriate files, databases, travel related information and prepare reports as requested Attend and participate in meetings, training classes, presentations, and seminars that pertain to assigned responsibilities Basic Qualifications Associate's Degree in Business or a related field AND a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a client facing role in a fast paced corporate travel or travel agency environment making domestic and international travel reservations Proficient knowledge of ARC (Airlines Reporting Corporation) policies / requirements in order to follow refund, void, “MCO” (Miscellaneous Charge Order) and exchange procedures. Demonstrated understanding of airline Interline Agreements (formal agreements between airlines that govern ticket reimbursement, baggage transfers, etc.). Demonstrated knowledge of IATA (International Air Transport Association) code assignments, international tariff rules, international carriers, code-shares, and international split ticketing Must possess a proven track record with effectively coordinating and prioritizing multiple travel requests concurrently and process a large quantity of transactions per month Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality Ability to leverage time management and follow up skills in a fast paced environment Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet Experience on a Global Distribution System (GDS) Desired Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Experience with Online Booking Tool (OBT) Experience with Sabre Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
