Cost Consultant, Life Science & Industrial Manufacturing Projects
Platinum Global Talent Solutions is delighted to partner with our client, a leading global Consultancy renowned for delivering high-profile, complex, and iconic large-scale capital projects. With a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, our client is at the forefront of their industry.
We are seeking to appoint a Cost Consultant to support major capital projects in the Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing sectors. In this role, you will assist with all aspects of cost management, from cost planning and procurement to post-contract financial monitoring. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to exciting, complex projects in a dynamic and progressive industry.
Responsibilities
Cost Planning and Estimating : Assist in developing cost plans ensuring they align with client budgets and project requirements. Present cost estimates to clients and internal teams.
Procurement Support : Contribute to the procurement process, including prequalification, tendering, analysis, and contract preparation. Ensure that all procurement activities are carried out efficiently and in line with project goals.
Cost Reporting and Management : Support day-to-day cost management, including tracking project expenses, handling change orders, and ensuring accurate cost reporting. Ensure financial controls are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a point of contact for clients and project stakeholders, providing cost-related advice and guidance. Foster strong relationships to ensure clear communication and alignment on project financials.
Post-Contract Financial Control : Monitor post-contract cost performance, including managing cost variances, overseeing final account negotiations, and providing value engineering solutions to optimize project costs.
Qualifications
- Relevant Degree (BS, MSc, MBA, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field) A professional qualification such as MRICS is advantageous.
- A proven track record in a Cost Consultancy role, with experience in managing life science, industrial manufacturing or other capital projects.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding, with the ability to manage budgets, perform cost analyses, and track financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex cost information to clients and stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
- Familiarity with the life sciences or industrial manufacturing sectors, including an understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities these industries present for cost management and project delivery.
