Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Manager to lead Rivian's Cost Engineering function, working within the Purchasing organization to oversee a team of 30 in the United States and India. This position is located onsite in either Plymouth, MI, Irvine, CA or Palo Alto, CA and reports to the Director of Supply Chain Program Management.

Responsibilities

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to :

• Lead the team that assists new programs' early development with target setting guidance and optimized design collaboration by utilizing advanced costing tools and methodologies.
• Provide aid in new product sourcing with cost estimates and data-driven negotiation support.
• Control cost creep and optimize variances with targets and estimates in the change control process.
• Conduct and facilitate annual cost-down planning, assisting in VA / VE activities, gap analysis, and targeting of efforts in the various automotive commodities such as exterior, interior, chassis, structures, electrical, electronics, and assemblies.
• Collect details and compile data to enable estimation of all production costs considering raw materials, purchased components, labor, burden, overheads, markups, and tooling.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive cost engineering strategic roadmap : establish should-cost models, support tear-down and benchmarking activities, incorporate progressive software and tools, and lead cross-discipline teams in cost optimization efforts.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range / Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants : $176,200 - $239,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary : Rivian provides robust medical / Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
