Staff Accountant
The FTS Staff Accountant is truly a functional trailblazer, a continuous learner, and an integral member of the FTS team. The Staff Accountant s responsible for managing and executing key financial operations, including commission calculations and tracking, journal entries, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP) management. This role plays a critical part in the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, while supporting overall organizational financial health and compliance. Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Administration and Reporting
Track and document commissions and other variable compensation components across the organization.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and real-time reporting packages, providing detailed insights into financial performance.
General Ledger (GL) and Journal Entries
Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
Review and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Payroll
Process monthly and bi-weekly payroll, to include bi-weekly and monthly commissions and bonus payouts
Set up tax accounts in new states
Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) Management
Oversee AR / AP processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collection, and payment of bills.
Manage cash flow by tracking outstanding receivables and ensuring timely processing of payables.
Month-End Close Process
Support and facilitate the month-end close process by preparing account reconciliations, creating financial statements, posting adjusting journal entries, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensure all financial records are accurate, up to date, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Maintain thorough documentation of accounting procedures, financial transactions, and reporting processes.
Positively contributes and drives forward the internal company culture.

Requirements
Skills & Experience
Minimum Education / Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a four-year college or equivalent combination of education & experience
Skills Required :
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with AR / AP management, GL, and journal entries.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail, especially in documentation management and compliance.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
