Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to our company's financial health and growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and controlling our company's internal costs, including labor, material, and inventory. They will also be responsible for ensuring that financial reporting complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities :
1. Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product, by customer type and by customer.
2. Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward.
3. Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development such as production, purchasing, import / export, accounts payable, accounts receivable, import / export IT, receiving, shipping, and other.
4. Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count / physical inventories.
5. Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
6. Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division.
7. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
8. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
9. Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
10. Work in special projects as required.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
2. Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
3. Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
4. Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
5. Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
6. Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
7. Experience with GAAP and other relevant accounting regulations.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
11. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.
