Description :
We are looking for a compassionate school psychologist to work with our students, their families, and faculty members. The school psychologist's responsibilities include administering psychological evaluations, providing counseling, making diagnoses, and contributing to the development of learning programs. The school psychologists will conduct individual or intervention-based evaluations to assist school staff and parents; effectively meet the academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs of children, consult with educational staff to develop intervention plans along with individualized learning and / or behavioral plans for students.
To be successful as a school psychologist you should be able to successfully aid students in their personal and academic development. Ultimately, an outstanding School Psychologist is compassionate and committed to students' well-being.

Essential Job Functions :
- Promote child growth and development through the school program
- Assist with student 504 plans
- Expert to share knowledge and understanding of special education regulations
- Must be available to staff and parents for consultation
- Engaging and counseling teachers, parents, and caregivers about issues.
- Researching and implementing intervention programs.
- Developing programs to address behavioral issues and learning difficulties.
- Counsel individually and in groups with children and students with disabilities and / or their parents
- Provide screening programs for children, if necessary
- Provide referral to and consultation with outside service agencies, if necessary
- Conduct individual psycho-educational evaluations of children; interpret findings, when appropriate, to parents, teachers and other school personnel, child and qualified community agencies through conferences and written reports
- Participate in the identification and placement of children with disabilities
- Recommend appropriate classroom management strategies and interventions for RtI and behavior management plans
- Responsible for implementing new practices or methods in the area of school psychology and the RtI process
- Attend meetings and in-services as required
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
- Provide the results of psycho-educational evaluation for consideration in the development of IEP's for each student with a disability
- Provide intensive psycho-educational evaluation of individual children identified as, or thought to have a disability
- Assume case manager responsibility for individual students for the assessment phase and evaluation team report writing portions of child study
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required
- Provide guidance to students to promote their educational development
- Collaborate with colleagues
- Assist the administration in implementing all procedures and rules governing the preschool program and legal mandates
- Observe ethics of the teaching profession
- Keep abreast of all rules and regulations regarding special education standards
