Duties & Responsibilities : Crane Technician :

  • Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
  • Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance; and respond to emergency service / breakdown calls.
  • Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed.
  • Perform electrical and / or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
  • Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
  • Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Responsible for company equipment including, company vehicle(s), tools, etc.

Education & Qualifications : Crane Technician :

  • 5 or more years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
  • Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
  • Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
  • Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs.
  • Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner.
  • Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job.
  • Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
  • Required to use own hand tools and meter.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
