So, what will the Investigator at Terrestris do?

As the Investigator, you will support in the design and delivery of an 88-hour curriculum and training materials, covering high-level investigative techniques, legal adherence, and tactical operations relevant to narcotics law enforcement for an advanced narcotics investigations training program, primarily focused on synthetic drugs, tailored to Mexican legislation. The curriculum will cover essential topics such as evidence handling and reporting, as well as preparing officers for effective courtroom testimony. Some work may be performed in Mexico.

What does a typical day look like for the Investigator?

You will :

  • Support in the creation of :

The training's lesson and implementation plan.

  • The course content and outline.
  • The training materials (including but not limited to audio / visual presentations, lectures, handouts, etc.).
  • The manuals for the students and the instructors.
  • The knowledge evaluation instruments.
  • A presentation following the structure of the student's manual.
  • The case scenarios needed for specific content.
  • Support in the design of :
  • A preliminary survey which includes simulated scenarios and activities, that will be conducted on the first day of the training, to evaluate participants' skills and knowledge.
  • A Final Knowledge Evaluation (Final Exam) consisting of 25 to 30 multiple-choice, close-ended questions, selected from the module / unit quizzes administered during the course.
  • Support the development of a presentation in Spanish.
  • What qualifications do you look for?

    You might be the professional we're looking for if you are a current investigator or a former investigator with no more than 2 years of retirement, and have :

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in law, criminal justice, law enforcement, criminology or related field.
  • A combination of ten (10) years of experience in the Mexican Criminal justice system working as an investigator at the Federal or State level, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience actively participating in narcotics investigations and trials under the Mexican accusatorial criminal justice system.
  • At least five (5) years of experience training and teaching topics related to rule of law, intelligence operations and analysis, narcotics investigations, and tactical exercises.
  • An understanding of drug distribution mechanisms and supply chains.
  • Demonstrated experience in forensic laboratories working in controlled substance analysis and narcotics identification, is preferred.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak both English and Spanish fluently is required.
