EDITOR
Location: Culver City, CA
Type: Full-Time | Daytime Court Shows
Salary Range: $31.25 - $40.86 per/hr
Position Summary:
We are looking for skilled Editors to join our post-production team for nationally syndicated daytime television court shows. Editors will be responsible for shaping compelling episodes that meet tight deadlines and uphold our creative standards.
Each episode typically includes two cases that must be edited for time and content. Editors will add evidence in post when needed, mix audio elements (including voice-overs and music), cut episodic promos, and address all rounds of notes from producers — both remotely and in person.
This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role that requires strong storytelling instincts, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader post team.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit and build full episodes for multiple syndicated court shows.
Cut cases down for time and content while preserving story clarity and pacing.
Add evidence, exhibits, and on-screen elements as needed.
Mix audio, including voice-overs, music, and sound effects.
Cut episodic promos and teasers.
Address notes from producers and post supervisors promptly.
Deliver completed episodes according to network specifications and deadlines.
Occasionally pick up another editor’s episode or hand off your own to ensure delivery timelines are met.
Create split-track masters for final delivery when required.
Juggle multiple episodes at different stages of post simultaneously in a high-volume environment.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with Adobe Premiere required.
Proven experience editing unscripted episodic television; court or legal programming experience is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong communication skills for working with Post Producers, Supervising Producers, and other team members.
Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
Creative problem-solving and a proactive mindset.
BA/BS degree preferred.
