About the Position
The Victim Services Program has provided services to victims of crime since 1985. The program utilizes volunteers assigned to the court advocacy unit, the protective order unit and the family violence unit. The goal of the program is to provide comprehensive services to crime victims involved in the criminal justice system, who have a case that is being prosecuted by the District Attorney's Office.
The Victim Advocate Provides immediate crisis intervention to victims; provides victims with information about the conditions of the offender's supervision; provides support during the investigation and prosecution process; explains procedures and requirements; consults with victim to determine the full extent of the crime and assesses victim's needs; refers victims and their children to appropriate community services for assistance made necessary by the crime; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Schedule :
Monday - Friday; 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm
Training :
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in social work, sociology, corrections or counseling is desirable.
Experience :
Two years of responsible experience in community service providing direct client assistance, and coordinating and training volunteers.
An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
