• Pharmacy Intern
• will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.
• Location
• This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.
• How you will make an impact :
• Assists in developing and configuring prior authorization decision trees in the workflow tool + Participates in quality assurance feedback from pharmacists of prior authorization decision trees within the workflow tool + Assists in implementing clinical programs within the prior authorization space + Verifies member, provider, and drug information and inputs data for the prior authorization pharmacists. + Educates providers on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs. + Processes prior authorization requests from physicians' offices and ensures compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements; inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.
• Minimum Requirements :
• Ability to work 20 per week for the duration of the internship + Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university. + A current, active, unrestricted Pharmacist Intern license in applicable state(s) required.
• Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences :
