Overview
The Information Security Internship is an opportunity to learn and develop your information security skills by working with program management, basic security operations, governance activities, and security metrics. This role offers hands-on exposure to how a corporate information security program operates while providing practical experience in security operations, risk management, and reporting.

The typical base pay range for this position is USD $43.50 - $52.25 per hour. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only.


Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties

• Assist with tracking security initiatives, projects, and action items
• Help prepare meeting materials, status reports, and documentation
• Maintain project trackers, timelines, and follow-up items
• Assist with basic security operations tasks under supervision
• Help log and document security events, incidents, and investigations
• Support routine operational activities such as access reviews and control checks
• Help maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
• Assist with risk tracking, issue remediation follow-up, and documentation
• Support audit and compliance activities by organizing evidence and records
• Assist with third-party risk documentation and tracking
• Collect and maintain security metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Assist with preparing dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports
• Help ensure accuracy and consistency of security data used for reporting
• Assist with security awareness activities and training support
• Perform documentation cleanup and knowledge base updates
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the InfoSec program

Competencies

• Coursework or exposure to cybersecurity, risk management, or IT governance
• Familiarity with basic security concepts and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO)
• Experience with spreadsheets, reporting tools, or data analysis
• Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
• Self-motivated and aptitude to learn quickly
• Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong sense of professionalism

Qualifications (Requirements)

• Candidates should be seeking a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent
• Strong interest in information security and enterprise technology
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with documentation and data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly
• Able to work independently at times and dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/week
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your employment and criminal history
• Must be 18 years of age or older
