Justification
The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high-quality, low-cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brigham's unified system strategy to bring healthcare closer to patients while lowering total healthcare costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. We share the commitment to delivering a coordinated and comprehensive experience across all locations, ensuring the appropriate level of care is available to every patient across our care delivery sites.
Our Float Pool team is a group of employees who are specially trained and readily available to seamlessly assimilate and stabilize clinical operations within our practices. We cover gaps due to unexpected call outs, long-term leaves, planned vacations, staffing vacancies, etc. This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously to the top of your education / certification while also functioning as part of a collaborative team.
Job Summary
We are seeking per diem Medical Assistants to pick up shifts Monday through Friday, but we can be flexible on exact days based on employee availability. In this role, you would be expected to cover various practices across the Pioneer Valley. Towns / cities include :
Amherst
Belchertown
Florence
Greenfield
Hadley
Northampton
South Deerfield
West Hatfield
Williamsburg
We do our best to keep all employees with their preferred geographic regions / specialty areas; however, float pool employees must be able and willing to commute to any of our locations during orientation (for training / precepting purposes) or during times of fluctuating staffing shortages (for cross-coverage purposes).
Our Medical Assistants partner with and work alongside a physician or advanced practice provider. Responsibilities include :
Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone triage, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Required :
- High School diploma / GED - Either BLS or Annual Manikin training including CPR and AED after 6 months of hire
