Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama's College of Medicine's Physiology and Cell Biology department is seeking to hire a Research Technologist I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Conducts physical, chemical and biological analyses of laboratory samples.
- Prepares and applies specialized solutions and reagents to tissues or related specimens.
- Analyzes data using quantitative and qualitative techniques and prepares reports as directed.
- Performs molecular biology procedures, including DNA and RNA extraction from biological samples, PCR, plasmid amplification, immunoblotting, and immunoprecipitation as needed.
- Prepares and maintains detailed records, logs, and summary of reports of all procedures and results, including graphs, scientific calculations, and statistical analysis.
- Supports basic laboratory experiments and assists the lab staff as needed.
- Maintains the laboratory, orders supplies, and conforms to all regulatory policies.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
