As a Program Specialist at our 7 th Street Centre, you will work with talented people with disabilities in a creative environment ensuing they feel supported, valued and engaged in meaningful activities.

The Program Specialist also ensures a safe environment in addition to supporting with caregiving responsibilities and supervision support.

The ideal candidate would have artistic skills in fine art and dramatic arts.

Being a calm/ patient, self-motivated, highly social and attentive person will be key to the success of a Program Specialist working in this amazing position.

Hours:

• 36-40 hours a week Pay Rate: $18.25 Schedule: Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm There are days we take the students on field trips throughout the community.
• Must have a valid license and auto insurance as well as access to a vehicle and willing to drive the students as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include participating in and supporting participants in activities including; Acting Theater games Costuming Prop building Painting and building sets Participating in rehearsals, classes, and performances Required skills, experience, and attributes:

• Proficient in one of the following: Fine Art, Theatre, Film, Dance, or Music or a knowledgeable historian in one or more Experience working with diverse populations Ability to make decisions for the good of the students, program, and fellow team members Ability to work with limited to no supervision Ability to help plan events and activities Good team building skills and ability to work well with others Respond to crisis, following guidelines and plans Must be able to support individuals to reach their potential Effective communication skills including ability to write/document clearly Willing to offer and accept feedback Support students with personal care as needed Monitor safety of the individuals and the environment Must like to have fun!

Requirements:
