NOCCCD is now accepting applications for English Instructors at Cypress College!

Minimum Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition
Bachelor’s in any of the above
Master’s in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing or journalism
OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Recent lower division or community college teaching experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop a variety of effective teaching techniques and assessment methods.
Ability to engage student interest to support a variety of learning styles.
Ability to promote the use of instructional technology in curriculum delivery.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Experience with teaching and mentoring historically and socially minoritized / marginalized communities such as African-American / Black, Chicanx / Latinx, Pacific Islander, Native American, women, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
Working Conditions :
Salary Range : $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16 - $1380.60 per lab unit rate

Special Instructions Summary : SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARY
This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.
This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
