See Yourself as a Sr BI Data Analyst

The Senior BI Data Analyst is responsible for proactively participating in designing, developing, and evolving high quality, extensible BI solutions and interpretation of results using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining. This individual will be responsible for creating complex reporting and analytics processes support analytical needs interfacing with both internal and external clients. In addition, they will perform all aspects of analysis and report development ranging from requirement gathering to creating advanced dashboards while demonstrating the ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

Develops and implements complex reporting and analytical processes surrounding mortgage services using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining.

Works with clients, project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements to deliver high quality BI solutions and analyses and takes ownership for data quality, report quality and customer satisfaction.

Performs unit and user acceptance testing of reporting modules, analyzes test results, and corrects problems.

Participate in first level of production support activities and resolves escalated support issues.

Generates new code and corrects, converts, and / or modifies existing code to meet specifications.

Communicates regular progress reports and provides input to regarding annual goals and training plans.

Actively supports colleagues by sharing information about the department, business unit and organization.

Assists in new hire training and unit level testing of peers, assisting in providing feedback in enhancing and tuning complex reporting.

Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications : Knowledge :

Bachelors degree in Math, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or other data analysis discipline required; Masters degree preferred. Demonstrated experience considered in lieu of technical degree.

4+ years experience with a relational database and BI report development preferably with Financial / Mortgage business acumens.

3+ years experience with a Business Intelligence tool; MicroStrategy, Tableau, or other equivalent BI tools.

2+ years experience following structured software development methodologies Agile, Scrum, Kanban

Expert in designing and developing Data Source Views, Dimensions, Hierarchies, Cubes and Reports.

Clear and concise understanding of data movement (ETL), data warehousing, Business Intelligence and industry trends.

Assist in designing ETL processes and development of charts and reports for reporting initiatives.

Understanding of Business Intelligence Industry and trends

Skills and Abilities :

Must be a team player with effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external parties clearly and professionally.

Understanding of query driven applications and reporting, and logical and physical data models.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Strong creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.

High commitment to excellent service levels and satisfaction with partners.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task are necessary.

Detail-oriented outlook coupled with ability to manage time effectively, plan and meet deadlines.

Good business writing and presentation skills.

Additional Qualifications :

3-5 years experience with data warehousing and SQL required

3+ years experience with SQL Server, MicroStrategy, other BI tools, or other query driven applications.

Strong understanding of data movement (ETL), Business Intelligence and industry trends.

Knowledge and familiarity of Big Data concepts and tools (i.e., Hadoop, map reduce, Hive, Pig, NoSQL, etc.).

Knowledge and familiarity with current mortgage loans evaluations, gathering requirements, analyzing data, data mapping, and report / database development.

Education, Certifications and Prior Work-Related Experience :

Degree Requirement : Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Degree Preferred : Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Work Experience : 6 or more years of prior work experience

Competitive Compensation : anticipated base salary from $70,275 to $115,450 based on skills and experience. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
