Data architect Jobs in Glendale, AZ

The Data Architect will help our customer create a data strategy involving a complex manufacturing problem that can be found within 10tb of unstructured data. In addition, the Data Architect will likely to be extended to help design a data program / solution.

• Responsible for the architecture of an AWS data solution and work with the data team to estimate, plan, design, and deliver data solutions.
• Responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing the components, data, and layers required for complex cloud data implementations based on requirements and design specifications.
• Mentors and coaches other team members in design, coding, and data engineering practices.
• Understands the architectural direction and standards of the organization and helps to ensure that the team adheres to them appropriately.
• Participates in all phases of the cloud data solutions from initial requirements gathering to delivery.
• Required Skills :
• 5 years prior experience working as a Senior Data Engineer and 2+ years as Data Architect.
• Advanced / expert level with ETL and or Airflow.
• Able to use PySpark and or Glue (cloud equivalent).
• Python - v3+.
• Web frameworks like Flask and Django.
• Familiar with common tools and best practices like pip, black and pep8.
• AWS cloud.
• Ability to develop and maintain complex data pipelines.
• Design data processing tools for rapid analysis of datasets by analysts from non-software related backgrounds.
• Ability to work with massive and complex timeseries datasets

Design and develop technical solutions to satisfy complex requirements.

• Investigates and resolves complex application and system technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.
• Continually improves operations and infrastructure by conducting complex systems analysis and recommending changes in policies, procedures or computing components.
• Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
• Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
• Additional Preferred Skills :
• Self-starter, team-player, and a collaborative personality.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Preferably a background in a production or manufacturing related field.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal / written)

The Data Architect will need to be located in the Phoenix market and will work on-site collaboratively with the core project team. Position could go longer and could turn into a full-term conversion for the right candidate. On site minimum of 3 days a week, normal business hours, casual attire, fast paced, startup organization.
