Job Title : Automation Architect Lead Engineer Location : Rochester, Minnesota Experience Required : 12+ Years Employment Type : Contract Interview Type : In-Person or Webcam Job Description We are seeking an experienced Automation Architect Lead Engineer to guide and implement automation strategies across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and deployment of automation frameworks and solutions that improve efficiency, streamline operations, and enhance system reliability. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on engineering expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation initiatives from planning through execution. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and architecture of enterprise automation frameworks, tools, and solutions. Develop automation roadmaps and define technology strategy aligned with business goals. Drive automation initiatives across development, testing, deployment, and operations. Identify process gaps and recommend improvements through automation and optimization. Build reusable and scalable frameworks for CI / CD, test automation, and infrastructure automation. Evaluate, select, and implement automation technologies and tools. Oversee end-to-end automation lifecycle including requirements analysis, planning, execution, deployment, and support. Mentor engineering teams, conduct code reviews, and ensure technical best practices. Collaborate with DevOps, QA, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate automation into workflows. Ensure security, compliance, performance, and reliability standards are met within automation designs. Prepare documentation, architectural diagrams, and technical specifications. Troubleshoot complex automation issues and provide long-term corrective solutions. Required Skills and Qualifications 12+ years of professional experience in automation engineering, DevOps, or software development roles. Proven experience architecting and implementing enterprise automation frameworks and solutions. Strong expertise in scripting and programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, or Groovy. Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. Solid experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, UFT, JMeter, or Robot Framework. Strong understanding of CI / CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation and management. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, or Datadog. Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams through technical complexity. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse technical and business teams.
